Dr. Barbara Cain
Although she grew up on a cattle ranch in Portland surrounded by dogs, cats, and cattle, Dr. Barbara Cain initially satisfied her love of science by pursuing an engineering degree in college. During her studies, she volunteered at the Oregon Zoo and worked as an assistant at a nearby veterinary clinic. It didn’t take long for Dr. Cain to realize something—for her, working with animals was no work at all! She decided to follow her true passion and devote herself to veterinary medicine.
Dr. Kim Emery
The majority of Dr. Kim Emery’s after-school activities while growing up were related to animals. She raised rabbits, sheep, and even a goose for the 4-H organization, and was also involved in raising a puppy for the Guide Dogs for the Blind program. She’s known that she wanted to help animals as a veterinary professional for as long as she can remember!
Dr. Kathryn West
Growing up just outside of Portland—barely 10 miles from Linwood Animal Clinic—Dr. Kathryn West spent a lot of time with her family pets as a child. Now, Dr. West is an Associate Veterinarian with the Linwood Animal Clinic team.
