Pet Dermatolgy Services at Linwood Animal Clinic

Itch is a medical condition that can cause serious complications and get in the way of the fun your pet has with you and your family. We offer pet allergy and animal dermatology services to keep your pet healthy.

DIAGNOSIS

We will run a number of diagnostic tests in our in-house lab to determine the cause. Sometimes blood work, skin scrapings, and biopsies will be needed to help determine the best treatment plan. Dermatological issues we can help with:
  • Allergies (food and/or environmental)
  • Infections (acute or chronic)
  • Parasites
  • Dermatitis
  • Hormonal disorders
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Tumors
  • Skin cancer

TREATMENT PLAN

We develop a custom treatment plan for your pet, designed to achieve the best possible results based on the diagnosis. One treatment we may recommend for dogs with dermatitis is Cytopoint, which can offer 4–8 weeks of itch relief with a single injection in our clinic. Cytopoint reduces symptoms to improve the quality of life for dogs and their families. Symptoms to look out for include:
  • Excessive scratching
  • Scabbing or flaking of the skin
  • Hot spots
  • Shedding more than usual
  • Biting, chewing or licking at the affected area
  • Bumps or lumps on or under the skin
  • Hair loss
  • Body odor

“Great staff and doctors!”

My cat was very sick and the wonderful staff managed to find time to examine her on a busy Saturday even though I didn't have an appointment. Dr. Jonas was very caring and took excellent care of my kitty! Thanks again for the great service! – Angelina
